We also do consultancy, travel product design, tourism marketing, custom publishing, and match investors with specific projects – all in the areas in which we specialize, particularly nature and culture tourism in western China. Below is an outline of these other branches of our business.
Tourism Investments
In the course of our work in western China, we are often aware of emerging destinations that are ripe for tourism investments such as hotels and restaurants, reception centres and museums, provision of outdoor activities, management of protected nature areas, and so on. The Chinese government generally encourages these kinds of investments, whether by Chinese nationals or foreigners, as a way of boosting local economies and aiding in the transference of modern service skills to the local populace (the local people often lack the expertise to develop modern tourist businesses themselves). We know of various opportunities for investments. Some of them involve potential public-private partnerships – and here, once again, the local authorities are open to innovative public-private management agreements. Our advantage is that we have nurtured co-operative relationships with government officials in many of the areas where we work, and this gives us a head-start in advancing discussions. If you’re a tourism investor interested in investing in the eco-tourism industry in western China, we can assist you throughout the whole process (we are also well-versed about the operating environment as regards to laws and the local tourism situation). Contact us, and we will brief you about the opportunities that are currently up for grabs.
Tourism Marketing & Development Consultancy
One of our associates, Victor Borg, is an expert in international tourism. He has accrued considerable experience and knowledge about the international tourism trade, with a special focus on Asia. He has produced consultancy reports for tourist businesses who wanted to develop new products. He has also written detailed analyses about tourism development for some of the most eminent tourism trade publications in the world, including the periodical of the Pacific Asia Tourism Association. He knows what international tourists want, what tourist routes are likely to be successful, what works and doesn’t work, what are the whims of westerners travelling in Asia, and what will be hot in tourism in a year or two. He has particular expertise and interest in nature tourism. And he can bring all his skills and experience to bear to help you develop your tourist product and service with workable innovation, and then market your product in a way that reaches and rouses potential clients.
Custom Publishing & Marketing
Very often, guidebooks or brochures or other publicity materials are not well thought out. The ones published in China, particularly in western China, tend to be colouful but then skimpy and uninspiring in their prose. Moreover, the English prose is often inelegant and unpolished, and full of Chinese idioms translated literally, hence offering jilted reading. These publicity materials also tend to lack practicalities such as maps, addresses, phone numbers, and so on. We avoid all these pitfalls, we know our stuff – we have a track record working on international guidebooks. We know what captures the imagination of the readers, what level of practical details are needed in any given case, and what’s the correct balance of words and pictures. Try our custom publishing division in area of tourism and business in either English, French, or Chinese – unlike other agencies, we do not simply engage translators: we engage writers, and the prose is tweaked to make it glow in each of the languages.
