The Min Mountains, home to the largest density of wild pandas in the world, hold some of the most spectacular and least-touched landscapes on earth. The range of elevation is impressive, starting at 500 metres and rising to 5,500 metres within a lateral distance of about 150 km. This has created diversified habitats and species richness characterised by an unusually high percentage of endemic species. The human geography is also unique, with the mountains holding two distinct subgroups of indigenous Buddhist believers. Trekking is second to none, and the landscapes and vistas will impress you at every turn: here is a selection of some places and faces encountered during the Panda Trekking tour.
