DYNAMIC PRICING & FLEXIBLE ARRANGEMENTS

If you are travelling in your private group, you can customise the itinerary and level of service to change the cost and characteristics of the tour to your preferred budget and taste.

On the itinerary pages of this website, we list default prices based on our standard tours, in which logistical supports, such as hotels and restaurants, are mid-range in quality. These default prices per person drop incrementally in proportion to the size of the group, up to a maximum of ten travellers. But our dynamism and flexibility in setting prices goes far beyond the falling price per person commensurate with the size of the group. If you are joining us as a group or an individual traveller, you can either upgrade or downgrade the services, as well as make other choices, to alter the travel arrangements and price that suits your tastes and budgets.

The general choices you can make are the following:

• Composition and size of crew. In small groups of less than four participants, you can have just one person who acts as a tour leader and driver and coordinator (more than four travellers would have to have at least a crew of two), or you can have a full complement of crew comprising of separate tour leader and driver and general assistant
• Type of vehicle. The type of vehicle can range from a luxurious and spacious SUV to a more modest van, or even saloon or sedan car
• Class of hotels and restaurants: Many destinations have a range of hotels, and it’s up to you what grade of hotels – and restaurants, wherever possible – you would like to use
• Extra frills. We can include any special food or drink (such as good wine, cheese, special breakfast) at a price, or even other special consumables or services – tell us what you fancy, and we will tell you whether we can serve you (we can serve you if what you desire is available and, more importantly, if it’s within the parameters of our values) and how much it will cost you
• Itinerary and budget change. Some itineraries cost more than others to execute even if the activities are the same. For example, we have to pay exorbitant fees to go trekking in some nature reserves, but less or no fees in other nature reserves. Likewise, some destinations might not have budget hotels. All of these things can significantly alter the price, and if you want to travel on a budget, we can choose the destinations and itinerary for which the third-party fees – either administrative, or for hotels and restaurants, or for guides, porters and cook – are at the lower end of the spectrum.
