Our prices are already low by international standards, but you can make the prices lower if you are joining us as an individual or as a private group. Or, if you want to travel in luxury, you can upgrade the service and logistical support such as hotels, and prices would then of course become commensurably higher. There’s more to this system than what’s apparent at face value – let us explain.
On the itinerary pages of this website, we list default prices based on our standard tours, in which logistical support, such as hotels and restaurants, are mid-range in quality. These default prices per person drop incrementally in proportion to the size of the group, up to a maximum of ten travellers. But our dynamism and flexibility in setting prices goes far beyond the falling price per person commensurate with the size of the group. If you are joining us as a group or an individual traveller, you colleagues can choose the level of luxury and comfort, and the mode of travel, as well as opt to forego certain other frills, to alter the travel arrangements and price that suits your tastes and budgets.
Making certain choices can significantly lower the price. As you might imagine, the vehicle and driver are the largest single daily cost. You can reduce this cost by doing away with a dedicated driver, and instead have the guide or tour leader double as a driver – this will shave off the driver’s fee, hotel rooms, and food from the tour price. Or you can go a step further, and opt to travel by public transport – and local taxis where no public transport exists – and simply have a guide or tour leader accompany you during the travels: this will slice off a considerable portion of the price. (Please note that travelling with public transport is not possible for all our destinations as some places are too far out to reach on readily-available local transport.)
Then there are other choices that are not apparent, but that significantly determine the price. In some nature reserves, for example, the administration charges us exorbitant fees to allow us to go trekking. If you want to travel on a budget, we can choose the areas where the fees – either administrative, or fees for guides, porters, and cook – are at the lower end of the spectrum.
At the other end of the scale, you can also travel in greater luxury if that suits your taste and budget. This would mean staying in upscale hotels where top hotels are available, as well as having a larger complement of crew to take care of your needs – conceivably, you can have a tour leader, coordinator, and driver, thus ensuring smoother travel and having all your little needs taken care of. You can also opt for the best restaurant available at every meal-stop, and even other frills during the travel itself – we can get you premium wine to drink along the way, and more luxurious food during lunch picnics and so on.
To explore all what’s possible with our flexible arrangements and dynamic pricing, write to us and tell us what you are seeking in terms of luxury and budget – as well as certain interests and activities you would like to engage in, and destinations you would particularly like to visit – and we will match you up with something that’s tailored for you.
