Although media coverage in the offbeat places where we operate is limited, various magazines have recommended Pepper Mountains’ travel. More details below:
The UK’s premier travel magazine, one of the most respected travel magazines in English that is an offshoot of the British Sunday Times newspaper, recommended Pepper Mountain in a special guide to China in the May 2010 issue.
The magazine of the UK’s Royal Geographical Society - the oldest and one of the most respected geographical societies in the world - carries many stories by Victor Paul Borg, Pepper Mountains’ creator. The magazine recommended Pepper Mountains in a story about Kanas national park in the May 2009.
The upscale and eclectic Destinasian, a glossy travel magazine focused solely on Asian travels, recommended Pepper Mountains in a roundup-article about the best treks that can be had in China in the August-September 2010 issue.
In an article about the Tagbanua tribes in the Calamian Islands – an article penned by one of our associates – Pepper Mountains was recommended as the enabling agency in travels among the Tagbanua. Action Asia is a Hong Kong based, pan-Asian adventure travel magazine.
Pepper Mountains organised the filming of takins by the British TV wildlife celebrity Nigel Marven. It was for a documentary about China’s wildlife, and we organised all the logistics and led the crew to the remote mountain ridge 3,400 metres high to film the rare takins. The trip was coordinated by our creator Victor Paul Borg, and this is what Nigel had to say afterwards: “We contacted Pepper Mountains to organise the filming of takins in the last minute. Victor could easily have told us to sod off, after presenting him with such a challenge to work out everything in less than a week. Instead Victor worked hard and enthusiastically, and organised a successful trip - we love Victor for this.”
Commendations by Private Travel Clients
Here is what some of our clients have said:
Karen Celliers, from South Africa, had the following to say about the tour of the steam train: “I would like to thank you heartily for the incredible trip. Bajiaogou is an absolute gem, and the train is the perfect mode of transport to lead one back in time! The trip could not have been more delightful.”
Gerlinde & Niels Plate, from Germany, used Pepper Mountains to organise a trekking and camping trip for their family (including three daughters, the youngest one six years old) in the Min Mountains in Sichuan. This is what Gerlinde said: “The trek you chose for us was great. It was perfect for the children, and I was surprised that our younger one Finja did the trek without complaints. The trek and entire trip was well-chosen on all counts. It was so interesting and varied that the children remained engaged and hence enthusiastic along the way. Just at the moment that our youngest was getting bored, there was the horse waiting, and then riding the horse provided another highlight to keep her spirits up.”
Angie Lee, from Singapore, joined us on a custom travel photography tour. This is what she had to say:
“Thanks for sharing the special places and photography insight. Now I have a set of pictures that make all my friends envious, and my love for photography has grown since my travels.”
