The magazine of the UK’s Royal Geographical Society - the oldest and one of the most respected geographical societies in the world - has carried stories by Victor Borg about destinations where we do tours, including Kanas in the May 2009.

NIGEL MARVEN

Pepper Mountains organized the filming of takins – a mystical animal that lives in the eastern Himalayas – for the British TV wildlife celebrity Nigel Marven. We took Nigel and his crew to remote mountain ridges 3,400 metres high, where there is one of the largest extant herds of takins. We organized everything for the crew, and it was a hugely successful trip: the crew managed to get ample footage of takins – as well as other rare animals, including leopard cat – during the expedition.

AVATAR RANGE

In the remote west of Thailand, near the border with Myanmar, we assisted an upscale hotel get attention. It was a challenging proposition: we had to lure media representatives, magazines writers, and eventually clients to a remote spot where there are no conventional attractions (no historical monuments, or beaches, or even minority enclaves for trekking). And we were successful: within months, we managed to get the hotel in many eminent international magazines, and give the brand visibility and the mark of excellence.

GOZO DIVING ASSOCIATION

We drew up the feasibility study, and later the management and marketing plan, for the sinking of a ship to serve as a wreck dive site and artificial reef in Gozo. We were appointed by the Gozo Diving Association. Gozo, which is Malta’s sister island, is the best diving destination in the Mediterranean.

Travel Clients Comments

Here is what some of our clients have said:

Karen Celliers, South Africa, about the tour of the steam train

“I would like to thank you heartily for the incredible trip. Bajiaogou is an absolute gem, and the train is the perfect mode of transport to lead one back in time! The trip could not have been more delightful.”

Achara Pradubsri, Thailand, talking about photography tour

“Thanks for sharing the special places and photography secrets. I now have a set of pictures that make all my friends envious, and my love for photography has grown since my travels.”

Carla Wolfgang, Germany, talking about tracking pandas:

“When we picked up the trail of the panda, seeing its fresh faeces and fur snagged on the bamboo, my heart started beating faster. It must have been within shouting distance… we experienced intimately how a panda lives.”

Jonathan Perry, England, talking about the Qiang ethnic group:

“It was surprising to see such an old ethnicity with a rich culture… The Qiang may be your company’s best kept secrets.”

Peter Dalgliesh from Ireland joined us in the Altay mountains:

“Staying in that yurt with the Mongol nomadic herders now ranks as my fondest travel memory ever.”

Andrew Gall from England about a driving tour of Tibetan villages

“Every Tibetan village we visited had something different than the one before it or the one after it… The whole trip was exhilarating.”

Etienne Dupont from France about trekking in the Min Mountains

“The treks were exclusive as promised. There was no one on the trails but us, and the mountains were magnificent.”
