Once you decide to join one of our tours, normally after one-to-one discussion, different policies come into play depending on the destinations and the nature of the tour. These policies do not always follow a regular pattern; here’s a general explanation of these policies.
Long Scheduled Tours
If you decide to join a pre-set long tour, you have to pay twenty percent of the price of the tour to secure your booking. Then, two weeks before the commencement of the journey, you have to pay an additional fifty-five percent; the rest – or twenty-five percent – is to be settled face to face when you arrive on the ground for the beginning of the travels.
Days & Detours
For these types of short tours or detours, payment arrangements are discussed individually depending on the time-span between booking and commencement of the trip. In most cases, advance payment would either be tiny or waived altogether and payment settled at the commencement of the trip.
Custom Tours
In tours customised for individuals or private groups, advance fees are decided on a case-by-case basis. Generally, there are two considerations that come into play: whether the custom tour more or less follows the pattern of one of our set tours, or whether the itinerary is highly customised, including destinations that do not appear in our pre-set itineraries. In either case we will enter into correspondence with the potential traveller/s, and then use our judgement in deciding if the client is serious or is simply looking for free information. We’ve had people in the past who ask lots of detailed information for highly specialised tours, and then we hear nothing from them once we supply them with a detailed day-by-day itinerary; these people obviously use us for free expert information to prepare their travels, and this has led us to decide that in most cases we would require a small consultancy fee before dispatching specialised detailed itineraries.
Payment Modes
Payment is to be settled upon issuance of an invoice in each case (we send invoices via email). We can accept payment in two ways: either via Paypal or via direct bank transfer. Once you tell us which mode you prefer to use for payment, we will put the relevant details on the invoice.
Cancellation and Refund
If you cancel your booking after paying the initial booking fee, and at least one month before the commencement of the tour, we will refund you fifty percent of the booking fee you would have paid. If you cancel after you would have paid the second instalment fee – which is two weeks before the commencement of the tour – no refund will be given (if you have to cancel due to being struck with sickness, or some grave family problem, you can claim this money from your international travel insurer, which you should purchase before paying the second instalment and purchasing flights). If the company cancels the tour at any time within one month of commencement due to happenings beyond the company’s control – such as a natural disaster or terrorism or political instability that prevents travelling to the area – we will refund you twenty percent of the total amount you would have paid.
Booking Process
There is no provision to book directly through Pepper Mountains website. Due to the specialised nature of our tours, and the capabilities of a niche company that focuses on personalised journeys, please contact us once you’re interested in one of our tours, or seek a customised trip, and we will agree on everything following one-to-one correspondence.
